Clinical Staff:Michael Hanafin Jr. M.Ed, MAPC, LAC
With over 25 years as a Police Officer, and six years as a Psychotherapist, he has significant experience working with people in crisis. He understands trauma and addictions from both a theoretical and real-world perspective. Using approaches such as EMDR, and traditional talk therapy, he works collaboratively with individuals, and couples facing PTSD/moral injury, trauma, addictions, anxiety, stress, depression, grief, and life transition issues.
He attended the University of North Dakota where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Rio Salado Community College where he earned his Applied Science Degree in Law Enforcement Technology, Northern Arizona University where he earned his Master’s Degree in Education, St. Cyril and Methodius Byzantine Catholic Seminary where he completed his Diaconal Studies, and Ottawa University, where he earned his Master’s Degree in Counseling.
He is also an Executive Board Member with the Arizona Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology.
In his spare time Mike enjoys being a husband and father to three adult children as well as being an amateur photographer.
